Pier 8 Hamilton Project is a new Hamilton landmark community at the west end of Lake Ontario. This projects still in the proposal stage. Located at Discovery Drive, Hamilton. The developers inluded Great Gulf, Dream Unlimited, Tridel, Urban Capital Property Group, Milborne Group, Core Urban Inc., Cityzen Development Group, Fernbrook Homes. The Project will included Condo, Hotel, Institutional, Office, Public Space, Rental, Residential.

Pier 8 Hamilton,The 9 Blocks blend together a variety of residential, commercial, and institutional spaces. Between the town homes, condos, and live/work spaces, will be space for a flagship restaurant, craft beer hall, and cafes. An artisan market and fresh market hall is planned on the eastern portion of the site. Fitness centres and amenity spaces will also be available to residents and community members. The development team is committing to 40% of the site remaining as open, outdoor space for community gatherings and seasonal events. A striking circular structure will occupy Block 16 as an institutional space, with an official tenant yet to be determined.

Part of the GulfDream proposal involves using wood as a sustainable building material. If chosen as the winning entry, Pier 8 would become the largest mixed-use, mid-rise urban wood community in North America. By using this renewable material, GulfDream seeks to achieve LEED Gold certification across the entire development.

The two main elements for the design include a network of north-south 'green slips' that carve and extend into the blocks, and a carved-out built form that echoes the formations of the Niagara Escarpment. Inspired by the Harbour’s industrial slips, the green network draws visitors and residents from the land outward to the water.
